A song of conscience and hope
So I’m sitting right here airing my song and thinking that this crazy world has gone wrong;
I’m wondering why we’ve reached the point when all our feelings and anger we vent.
I’m feeling guilt, it isn’t right watching those armies joined in the fight;
part of me says ‘I don’t want war’, part of me wishes to even the score.
God save Iraq and bring it peace and let it blossom and its troubles decrease;
and give its people a chance to be free and let them all live without tyranny.
If there is wrong it should be right and we should have the courage to settle the fight;
if the whole world wants to be rid of terrorism and all that is hid.
Let us stand up for what they believe should be their right to have freedom to breathe;
and make a vow and with our voice let us make freedom and liberty our choice.
God save Iraq and bring it peace and let it blossom and its troubles decrease;
and give its people the chance to be free and let them all live without tyranny.
Part of me says I don’t want war…part of me wishes to even the score.
